Social Responsibility

As a business we  feel that it is important to give something back to the communities within which  we work and as such we regularly participate in charitable events and fundraisers.

We work with several charities across Derbyshire and South Yorkshire and regularly raise money for the national fundraising events.

Some of our fundraising:

Bargain Hunt Challenge 2011

A team from Banner Jones recently  took part in the annual Bargain Hunt challenge which is part of the Chesterfield's arts and market festival.  Each team were given £100 which they had to spend on items from the antiques market.  The items were then judged and valued by TV's 'Cash in the attic' and 'Antiques Roadshow' Jonty Hearnden.  He claimed that our items would make the most profit and auction and on the basis the Banner Jones team were declared the winners of the challenge.   Here is Jonty handing over our winnings which we decided we would donate to the local Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.

Great Yorkshire Run Business Challenge 2011

The Banner Jones running team came back with a vengeance in this year’s 10k Bupa Great Yorkshire run in Sheffield.  The Banner Jones mixed team won the Medium sized Business Challenge for the second consecutive year.  As well as having a lot of fun along the way, we used the event as a way to raise money for the national charity ‘Voice’ who support the thousands of vulnerable children in the UK care system.   As well as the sponsorship from the race Banner Jones have held other fundraising events including a dress down day for staff, raising over £400 which will go towards the inspiring work they do here in our region’.

Three Peaks Challenge

Chris Sellars, Executive Director and Head of Business Legal Services took part in the 3 Peaks Challenge in June 2011.  The 3 Peaks Challenge involves climbing Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis in just 24 hours!  The team of 14 who took part in this years challenge raised a total of £13,000 for the Masonic Samaritans Fund.
