Jonathan Taaffe

Jonathan specialised in criminal law immediately after he qualified in 1985. His work includes defending individuals who are prosecuted for many different types of offence. These range from minor offences such as shop lifting and traffic offences to fraud, money laundering, assault, rape and murder.

Although Jonathan advises a large number of clients, he always understands that even a minor case is of major importance to the individual being prosecuted. He realises they need understanding and expert support during the criminal process.

Jonathan also acts for businesses prosecuted for breaches of environment law, health and safety regulations, and trading standards. The commercial aspects of such prosecutions are amongst the factors he takes into account.

Jonathan has been appointed Deputy District Judge. He is also a member of the Criminal Law Solicitors’ Association, and a member of the regional committee of the Legal Services Commission.
