When did you Qualify?

1997

"Rachel Barlow has just completed the legal arrangements in respect of my divorce. The service I received was exemplary and I wanted to write to you to let you know this. I have been pretty constrained in relation to availablity to meet and most of our business has been done over email which I appreciated, responses have been very timely, updates provided regularly, deadlines hit and fees reasonable. I contrast this with the service provided by a large law firm in sheffield in the early part of the year and your approach and that of your staff to customer services, in my , sets your firm apart. Your firm, and Rachel in particular, came to me though personal recommendation by and friend and I shall be happy to do the same. As I said to Rachel I am fully aware that those working with the public ( I work for the nhs) receive alot of brickbars than bouquets, so I wanted to let you know how happy I have been with the service received. Thank you again. " Mr C Sheffield

What do you specialise in?

Rachel was called to the Bar in 1994 and after initially practising in criminal and family law she obtained dual qualification as a solicitor and was admitted to the Roll in 1997. She became a specialist in fraud and regulatory work and was involved in successfully defending a wide range of clients often in high profile and complex criminal prosecutions, brought by the SFO, HMRC and Specialist Fraud Units of the CPS, BERR and other regulatory bodies. These cases were often of substantial value and long-running. Prior to joining Banner Jones she concentrated on professional disciplinary and regulatory work and has considerable expertise in representing doctors, solicitors, pharmacists, nurses, occupational therapists, optometrists, accountants, teachers and healthcare and other professionals from a wide range of disciplines. Rachel advises and represents clients from investigation through to formal proceedings.

Recent case successes

What some of her clients have said : "Rachel’s highly professional approach and reasonable charges were a great bonus. I valued her detailed, honest advice and guidance and prompt responses throughout" "Being available out of hours was invaluable to me at the most critical time when deadlines were looming" "The personal touch coupled with her experience and sensible approach made all the difference when dealing with something so complicated and upsetting. I had almost given up hope of retaining my ability to practise" "It was a pleasure having her on my side and could not have got through it without the expert help and guidance. I could not fault the service I received and we were ready well in advance!"
