An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Cashier to join our Accounts Department. The successful candidate will join a highly respected Company that will develop and empower you to be the best you can. You will be expected to provide an accurate and efficient accounts service to the Company ensuring all accounting procedures are carried out legally, in compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and in a timely manner. The role is based in Chesterfield.
Full time Hours - Permanent contract
Immediate Start (dependent upon notice period)
Hours of business are Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
To be considered for this position you must be an honest and trustworthy individual who has the ability to be methodical and who is able to work under pressure to meet the day to day demands of the Accounts Department. The position would suit someone who is highly organised, accurate, proactive, has the ability to prioritise work, adapt to change, problem solve and form solutions speedily and efficiently whilst also working as part of a team. Excellent all round communication skills and attention to detail is essential. A full and thorough training programme will be provided, however, candidates who have previous experience of working within an Accounts setting will be at an advantage.
This ‘hands on’ role which may include:
- Entering of sales invoices and related transfers
- Reconciliation of bill sheets at month end ensuring all bills have been entered
- Daily banking preparation and drop off
- Entering of branch banking
- BACS payments and cheques out of supplier, client matter invoices and disbursements
- Taking of and entering cash and card payments via telephone and reception
- Entering of online payments
- Petty cash
- HMLR daily statements
- Telegraphic Transfers (holiday cover and midweek processing)
- Director and staff expenses
- Any other reasonable tasks.
