What do you specialise in?
Robert qualified in 1976 and has been a partner in the firm since 1981. After initially spending 12 years specialising in Criminal Law and then Employment Law, for the last 25 years Robert has focused on Personal Injury. During that time he has developed considerable expertise in all types of cases on behalf of claimants and has dealt with several multi-million pound claims.
Robert was one of the first solicitors in the area to recognise the importance of management and business planning as far as law firms were concerned. He took on the role of Managing Partner in the 1980's and served as a member of the Management Executive Committee for Banner Jones Ltd until January 2020, when he retired from this position.
Robert has recently been recognised by the UK Legal 500 and has received the 'Recommended Lawyer' status for his experience in Personal Injury work.
Accreditations & memberships
Robert was elected to the National Executive Committee of the Law Management Section of the Law Society in 2010, and since then he has met with many law firm managers and has written several articles for the section's magazine 'Managing for Success'. In January 2014 he took over as Chairman of the section.
The 2018-2019 Legal 500 say that The guide states that that both Simon Wright and Robert Banner combine ‘intellectual rigour’ with ‘very good client skills’.
The 2016 Legal 500 say "extremely impressive’ group advises on claims arising from road traffic and workplace accidents, public liability and employers liability. Robert Banner is recommended."
