What do you specialise in?
Sarah is a Director and Solicitor in the Private Client Department and Family Business Team. She is also Head of the Private Client Department. Sarah deals with the administration of a deceased's estate (probate), the creation and administration of trusts, powers of attorney, application to the Court of Protection (where clients no longer have mental capacity to manage their own affairs), inheritance tax and asset preservation planning and preparation of Wills.
Sarah specialises in Compensation Protection Trusts for clients receiving a compensation award following a personal injury or medical negligence. I have specialist knowledge of company commercial matters and as member of the Family Business Team provide succession planning advice as well as company and partnership law advice.
She qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and undertook further training and exams to gain the Society Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Diploma which she passed with a distinction in December 2008. As a result Sarah is one of only two members of STEP in Chesterfield. Sarah has been involved with all aspects of estate administration including the registration of the death, arranging funerals, rehoming pets, securing and insuring property and dealing with insolvent estates. She regularly travels to see clients at their home where they are unable to attend the office.
Sarah attends and speaks about subjects such as Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney at local pensioner's groups and at seminars and regularly write articles for newspapers and other publications.
Sarah is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Sarah is also a fully trained corporate member of ICFIB (International Centre for Families in Business)
