Banner Jones celebrates a 6th consecutive year in the Legal 500

This year’s Legal 500 once again showcases the calibre of the company’s 130-strong legal team – located at offices in Chesterfield, Sheffield, Dronfield, Nottingham and Mansfield, with the Family Law team celebrating a move up the ranks to Tier 2, and the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team maintaining their Tier 2 ranking.

The Family Law team were given recognition for their commitment to handling the full spectrum of cases from divorce and civil partnership dissolution to children-specific issues such as adoption and guardianship, reflected in their move to Tier 2 and ‘outstanding’ categorisation.

Head of the Banner Jones Care team, Helena Downing retained her ‘Recommended Lawyer’ status for the fourth consecutive year with the guide praising her as the ‘intelligent, astute, persuasive and committed’ Helena Downing who ‘handles cases with sensitivity and commendable wisdom’.

Maintaining their Tier 2 ranking, Banner Jones’ Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team were recognised as strong performers on the clinical negligence side, as well as on the personal injury matters of which the team primarily focus on.

Executive Directors, Simon Wright and Robert Banner, from the Personal Injury team, were both awarded the prestigious ‘Recommended Lawyer’ status in this year’s guide, praised for being ‘outstanding’ and ‘very efficient’.

The guide states that Executive Director Simon Wright, is ‘a top-class personal injury and clinical negligence litigator’ who is ‘never flustered or outmanoeuvred by his opponents’. The guide states that both Simon Wright and Executive Director Robert Banner combine ‘intellectual rigour’ with ‘very good client skills’.

The new rankings reflect an impressive 12 months for the multi-award-winning firm, which has also seen its Employment Law team grow with the arrival of 2017 ‘Recommended Lawyer’ Sara Ellison. 

Sara joined the Sheffield office in January, bringing with her 7 years’ experience in employment law. As a Chartered Legal Executive, Sara specialises in all areas of HR, particularly large complex dismissal claims and industrial disputes.
