Banner Jones Welcomes New Commercial Property Expert

Banner Jones is expanding its extensive commercial and residential property team with the appointment of experienced Commercial Property Solicitor Ben Couch.

Based in the firm’s Chesterfield office, Ben joins following a period of significant growth for the department which has continued to operate at capacity throughout the pandemic.

Formerly at Foys Solicitors, he brings over 10  years’ experience and particular expertise in franchising property matters to the role, having previously worked on behalf of clients such as Domino’s Pizza, Boots, WHSmith, Gala Bingo, and O2 Telefonica.

He represents a myriad of clients spanning a wide range of sectors, including retail, leisure and tourism, manufacturing and logistics, working on behalf of landlords, tenants and developers on a range of matters such as the management of portfolios and the disposals and acquisitions of property.

Ben is the latest in a number of new hires for Banner Jones, which announced this summer that it had appointed seven new members of staff across its residential property, dispute resolution and commercial property departments.

The expansion of the teams comes in response to ‘unprecedented demand’ for its legal services over the past two years – including employment law, family law, wills, personal injury, and commercial property.

The firm boasts specialist departments across the full spectrum of legal services, including employment law, residential property, dispute resolution, company finance, debt recovery and employment issues.

Commenting on Ben’s appointment Banner Jones Chief Executive, Simon Wright, said: “Despite the significant challenges that businesses faced over the last year or so, the property market – both residential and commercial – has remained extremely active with many companies looking for alternative premises that better meet their evolving needs.

“In response to that continued demand from both new and existing clients we are delighted to be welcoming Ben to our team. His extensive knowledge of commercial property matters working on behalf of a wide range of clients will further enhance our existing offering across the department.”

Ben added: “I am really looking forward to joining the Banner Jones Commercial Property team following what has been a really exciting and busy period of growth.

“The firm as a whole has an unrivalled reputation for delivering accessible, customer service-led legal services and that’s something I am equally passionate about.”

Banner Jones, operating from its offices in Chesterfield, Sheffield, Dronfield, Mansfield and Nottingham was recognised as part of the Legal 500 directory for the ninth year in a row, with its Family Law team celebrating a move up the ranks to Tier 2, and the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team maintaining their Tier 2 ranking.
