Charles has almost 50 years of experience as a solicitor, qualifying in 1977. He has extensive experience advising both private individuals and businesses on a wide range of residential and commercial property matters, including sales, purchases, leases and property-related transactions. He is committed to maintaining the highest standards of client care and legal practice.
Alongside his property work, Charles advises clients on wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, estate administration and trust matters. He provides guidance on a broad range of private client issues, including inheritance and succession planning, and advice relating to Inheritance Tax.
A longstanding member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Charles regularly attends professional development seminars and remains committed to keeping abreast of developments in this complex area of law. His wealth of experience, combined with his deep roots in the local community, enables him to provide trusted, practical and personal advice to generations of clients and their families.
Charles joined Banner Jones in October 2026 following the acquisition of his previous firm (Harrop White, Vallance & Dawson). Having spent his entire career with Harrop White, Vallance & Dawson, he has played a central role in the firm's development over many decades, following in the footsteps of his father and continuing a proud family association with the practice.
