Banner Jones Marks Another Year of Community Giving with Over £35,000 Raised and Donated to Local Causes

Staff at Banner Jones Solicitors have brought 2025 to a close with another year of strong community support, raising, donating, or sponsoring around £35,000 for charities, grassroots sports teams, and community organisations across the region.

This year’s activity reflects the firm’s long-standing commitment to giving back to the communities in which its staff and clients live and work — from supporting end-of-life care to backing local sports clubs and taking part in much-loved fundraising events.

A key highlight of 2025 has been the firm’s strengthened support for Ashgate Hospice. Banner Jones became the official medal sponsor for the 2025 Sparkle Night Walk, which marked the event’s 10th anniversary and brought together thousands of people to raise funds for end-of-life care across North Derbyshire.

Earlier in the year staff also completed the High Peak Trail Walk, tackling the 11-mile route to raise further funds for the hospice.

The firm has also continued its support for local grassroots sport, sponsoring football, cricket, rugby, and community teams across Chesterfield, Mansfield and Sheffield; renewing its Silver Sponsorship of Mansfield Town FC, strengthening ties with both the club and its Community Trust, and supporting its wider work across the area.

Alongside this, Team Banner Jones took part in three major running events across the year — the Chesterfield Redbrik 10k, the Dronfield 10k and the Bolsover 10k — raising money for a range of local charities. Staff fundraising was further boosted by a calendar of dress-down days, bingo events and bake sales organised by the firm’s Wellbeing Team.

In November, the firm once again took part in the Crooked Spire Christmas Tree Festival with its creative “Hat Tree”, which collected around 150 woolly hats donated by staff, clients and members of the public. These have now been distributed to Pathways of Chesterfield, Gussies Kitchen, Mansfield Soup Kitchen and the Archer Project to help keep vulnerable people warm this winter.

Pathways of Chesterfield said: “We’re so grateful to have received the hats from the Banner Jones Christmas tree this year. The donations we receive all go directly to keeping people safe and warm, and these hats will make a difference to those in our community who are struggling this Christmas.”

Gussies Kitchen added: “Alongside the struggle to feed their households, our members often find heating their homes difficult too. Donations of material items that help keep people warm are gratefully received — thank you to Banner Jones for letting us find the woolly hats a home.”

Reflecting on the year, Simon Wright, CEO at Banner Jones, said: “As a team, we are passionate about giving back to the communities in which our clients and staff live and work. From supporting Ashgate Hospice and local charities to backing grassroots sport and taking part in events across the region, it has been another positive year.

“We are proud of what has been achieved in 2025, and as we look ahead to 2026, we remain committed to making a lasting difference.”
