What do you specialise in?
Ben joined Banner Jones in November 2021 and is part of the Business Legal Services team in Chesterfield.
He advises businesses, investors, landlords and tenants on a broad range of commercial property matters, including acquisitions and disposals, lease transactions, refinancing, bridging finance, development land, auctions, licences and title investigations. He also has experience acting on pension fund property transactions, charities and supporting small business sales and purchases where property forms a key part of the deal.
Ben's career has taken him from niche commercial property practice to large national firms, giving him exposure to a wide variety of transactions and clients. His experience includes acting on franchise-related property work and leasehold matters for major household-name occupiers, such as Domino's pizza, Boots and WHSmith, providing him with a practical understanding of the commercial objectives that drive property transactions.
Known for his straightforward and approachable manner, Ben enjoys helping clients navigate property deals efficiently while keeping the process as clear and stress-free as possible.
Qualifications
Ben studied at the University of Sheffield and Leeds Metropolitan University before qualifying as a Solicitor in 2010.
Prior to entering the legal profession, Ben worked as a rock climbing instructor, bringing the same focus, determination and problem-solving approach to his legal career. He completed his training at specialist commercial property firm Sherrards Solicitors in St Albans before going on to gain experience with national law firm Shoosmiths and later Foys Solicitors, where he developed a broad commercial property practice before joining Banner Jones.
