Banner Jones scoops top litigation honour at Sheffield legal awards

Banner Jones has won Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team of the Year at the Sheffield & District Law Society Awards, held on Friday night at the Royal Victoria Crowne Plaza Sheffield.
The award recognises the firm’s expertise in handling complex disputes across a number of areas including Wills and Estates, Property, ownership of property, landlord and tenant and commercial disputes. It marks another successful year for the regional law firm.
Alongside the win, Banner Jones was also shortlisted in four additional categories: Employment Law, Residential Property, Commercial Property and Private Client — reflecting the strength of its teams across both personal and commercial legal services.
The Residential Property Team, ranked among the UK’s leading conveyancing practices, was recognised for its client-focused service and use of digital solutions. The Private Client Team was shortlisted following a period of growth, including the expansion of a dedicated Sheffield team which provides advice on Wills, LPAs, Trusts and Estate Administration.
The Employment Law Team, led by Katie Ash and Sara Patel, continues to advise individuals and businesses on complex workplace matters, while the Commercial Property Team’s shortlisting follows its first-ever recognition in the Legal 500 last year.
Simon Wright, Chief Executive at Banner Jones, said: “Winning Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team of the Year is a fantastic achievement and a real credit to the team’s hard work and commitment to clients.
To also be recognised across four other categories reflects the quality and depth of expertise we have across the firm. As a business with strong roots in South Yorkshire, success at these awards is particularly meaningful to us.”
The latest success builds on last year’s awards, where Banner Jones secured Employment Law Team of the Year for the fourth consecutive year and Family Law solicitor Lauren Mahon received the Rising Star Award.
