Will Writer

Join our Team as Will Writer in our Private Client Department (Chesterfield office)

As part of our expansion, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Will Writer to join our growing and highly regarded Private Client Will Writing team based in our Chesterfield office.  This full‑time, permanent role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative and supportive legal team. 

 

About the Role:

This hands‑on position involves delivering high‑quality client care and producing accurate legal documentation. You will work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting Wills
  • Preparing and managing LPAs
  • Meeting and advising clients
  • Identifying and signposting additional legal services
  • Supporting wider departmental tasks as required

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Skills & Qualities:

  • 2+ years previous experience of working in a Private Client setting and/or drafting Wills and LPAs would be advantageous.
  • Clear and professional telephone manner
  • Strong IT skills and numeracy
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail
  • Highly organised, proactive and calm under pressure
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision (subject to training requirements and an initial period of supervision).
  • Willingness to travel between offices when required
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to own transport as there will be an element of travelling involved, (applications from those learning to drive with an expectation to hold a Valid UK driving license/own transport within an agreed period from commencement within the role may also be considered)

Academic Requirements:

  • GCSE Grade C/5 or above in English and Mathematics
  • A law degree or equivalent qualification
  • 2+ years previous experience in working in a Private Client setting assisting on Probate/Estate matters; drafting Wills and LPA’s (advantageous)
