New bar to bolster ‘trendy’ Abbeydale Road nightlife

Sheffield’s trendy Abbeydale Road pub scene is to be further bolstered by a new, independent bar which will specialise in a range of high-quality craft beers.

Two Thirds Beer Co promises punters access to over 16 different rotating keg and cask beers available in two third measures as well as half and full pints. There will also be as a well-stocked bottle bar and wine offering.

The unique concept is the brainchild of fellow band members Danny Clare and Ben Stubs who play for Sheffield band Saint Petersburg, alongside friend and business partner Adam Inns, who have taken their inspiration from Seville in Spain where beer is served in smaller measures.

Transforming the site of the former vegan desert café Steel City Cakes, the new venue – which is situated alongside popular haunts including The Broadfield, Picture House Social, Barrowboy and Dead Donkey.

Law firm Banner Jones’ commercial team advised on the acquisition of the lease and the structure of the business.

Danny said: “This has been a dream of ours for some time now and we couldn’t be more pleased to be in a position to open our doors after what has been a year of hard work!

“We wanted to do something a bit different and were really inspired when we were last on holiday in Spain, we think the bar will complement what is already established on Abbeydale Road which has become a real hive of activity once the sun goes down.

“Thank you to Banner Jones who professionally and patiently steered us through the process of securing our first commercial lease.”

Rachael Flintoft, Business Services Solicitor at Banner Jones said: “This is a fantastic new addition to the Abbeydale Road line up and we have no doubt that Danny, Ben and Adam will deliver a great experience for those who visit Two Thirds Beer Co. We wish them every success for the future.”
