Banner Jones shortlisted in three categories at UnLTD Business Awards 2025

Banner Jones Solicitors has been named a finalist in three categories at the UnLTD Business Awards 2025, including Best Legal, Finance or Accountancy Business, Innovation Award, and Best Medium-Sized Business (under 250 employees and £50 million turnover).
The shortlisting recognises the firm’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation, commercial resilience, and client-focused service — particularly within its market-leading conveyancing team, which handles more than 3,500 property transactions each year.
In an industry often resistant to change, Banner Jones has redefined conveyancing by delivering a digital-first experience that is faster, smarter, and trusted by thousands.
From biometric ID checks and AI-powered search reports to the launch of an interactive digital quote brochure, the firm’s innovations have simplified a traditionally complex process, improving speed, accuracy, and transparency.
“Our innovation isn’t just a tool — it’s a transformation,” said Richard Joy, Head of Residential Property at Banner Jones. “We’ve invested heavily in creating a seamless digital journey that empowers clients to manage transactions securely and conveniently, while enabling our teams to work more efficiently.
“Being shortlisted across three categories is a fantastic endorsement of the hard work, collaboration, and creativity that drives our success.”
Despite wider economic challenges in the legal sector, Banner Jones has demonstrated strong financial performance and resilience, with 2025/2026 on track to be a record-breaking year.
Digital conveyancing initiatives have been central to this success, with a significant rise in new matter starts and improved conversion rates.
Over the past five years, Banner Jones has co-developed a suite of bespoke digital innovations with leading technology partners. Clients can now onboard digitally using biometric ID verification and anti–money laundering checks, while automated matter creation allows cases to open instantly — even outside office hours.
AI-powered search reports save hours on every case, while secure banking access provides real-time verification of funds. The introduction of interactive digital quote brochures, featuring personalised pricing, explainer videos, and FAQs, has further enhanced transparency and trust.
Innovation at Banner Jones is deeply embedded in the firm’s culture. A phased rollout involved 38 staff across four offices, with continuous feedback and refinement ensuring each tool was both practical and client-focused. Training and collaboration remain central to this approach, with staff encouraged to share ideas and clients invited to contribute feedback that shapes future improvements.
In addition to this, the team has developed a compliance support service for estate agents designed to underpin their increasingly stringent regulatory requirements surrounding ID verification for anti-money laundering and material information disclosure.
Simon Wright, CEO of Banner Jones, said: “Innovation and excellence go hand in hand. We’re proud that our investment in technology has produced tangible results — for our clients, our staff, and our business performance. To be recognised not only for innovation, but also for financial strength and overall business excellence, reflects our strategic focus on sustainable, client-centred growth.”
The UnLTD Business Awards 2025, hosted by UnLTD Business Magazine, celebrate excellence, innovation, and growth across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. Judged by a panel of independent experts, the awards recognise businesses that are driving positive change and setting new standards across their sectors.
“These nominations highlight how far we’ve come as a business and the difference that smart, thoughtful innovation can make,” added Richard Joy. “We’re proud to lead the way in digital conveyancing — but more importantly, to deliver a service that clients truly value.”
