Podiatrist struck off for failings

The Fitness to Practice Panel considered the case of a podiatrist who failed to provide prompt treatment to patients by failing to call for them adequately.  Complaints were also made that he was disrespectful and unfriendly to patients including calling one of them “soft”.  He had failed to properly account for large portions of his working day and failed to use the patient record systems to keep accurate and contemporaneous records.  It was argued that the record keeping failures were considered remediable but overall the panel found that the registrant’s attitudinal failings and dishonesty were not so remedial.  He was therefore removed from the register.
